Earlier this year I did a magazine work at Ibiza. Not too far away, on another Spanish island, I had the chance to photograph Jennie and Jakub's wedding in July. On a super warm Mediterranean summer day they had their beautiful Wednesday wedding at Port Verd Del Mar, Mallorca.
I have to tell you the story of what happened before the ceremony when we drove with separate cars to the ceremony. I had just photographed the preparations and we where late to the ceremony. I drove just behind the bridal couple's car when my rental car all of a sudden started with some very annoying alarm. I couldn't figure out what was wrong and I was all alone. The ceremony was quite far away and the sound didn't stopped. I was sure it was some serious problem with the car, otherwise it wouldn't have been so aggressive, loud and intense. I have to admit that this was one of my worst experience as a wedding photographer, because I belived that I might couldn't make it to the ceremony. And since we were late, there was no time to stop the car and have a closer look of what was wrong. As you can see I did make it! And when I after the ceremony told Jakub that I have to go back to the finca in their old classic car since I didn't wanted to take any more risks with my car, he said with a calm voice - Did you had any luggage in the front seat next to you? Ahhh... Yes! I did have my small camera bag. What a wase of energy. And yes, I felt very stupid. On our way back to the dinner there was of course no problem at all. This was also the moment when I snapped the car photo from behind. A little bit more relaxed I could drive and photograph at the same time.
Thanks Jennie and Jakub for letting me to be a part of your day!
