This is how beautiful it could be when a priest meets a journalist and they fall in love. I'm forever grateful to live in a country like Sweden where each human have the right to love. Regardless. It's an understatement to say that I was super excited to photograph Angelica and Karin's wedding in the end of August! It was my first gay wedding ever.
Our plan was to take the portrait photos out in a park, but due to rain we rescheduled to the city hall in Stockholm. It rained so much so even if we where under a roof I got beautiful reflections of the water on the ground. The ceremony took place in Sollentuna kyrka, the same church that is Karin's work place. I bet it's also special to have one of your best friends as a priest on your wedding day. I've been to a lot of weddings and I have rarely seen anyone making the ceremony so powerful, beautiful and emotional. The wedding celebrations included afternoon champagne, cake and dance before a wedding dinner just with their closest family.
Angelica and Karin, imagine that this was my first gay wedding and I have been waiting for 12 years since I photographed my very first wedding. This is why I will never forget the date 2013-08-31.
