The more I travel, the more I love it. But most of all it gives me perspective on my life on a much deeper level. I can see my ordinary life with new eyes and get super curious to get to know wonderful people like Mel and Will. My world is getting bigger but in the same time smaller and closer. Melanie was a guest at a wedding I photographed in Vienna a few years ago and this was her day with Will in Canada.
After spending almost a week in downtown Vancouver it was fun to go to West Vancouver and the amazing house where Mel grew up. We were shooting the preparations here before the ceremony in St. Andrew's-Wesley United church. Vancouver is not an old town and my impression was that all the blue/grey tall buildings pretty much melted into each other towards the sky. That was something that I tried to apply in the photos. The reception and the tea ceremony was held at Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel near the harbour.
Thanks Melanie & William for letting me to discouver North America a little bit more. And Dad, I know you can't read this in English and that you want me to blog in Swedish. But I love you and I want to thank you for joining me as my travel company on this trip. I hope to revisit some day when it's season to watch an ice hockey game with Vancouver Canucks and the Sedin brother's.
